In Greek mythology, ambrosia was a balsamic juice, which served as the "Food of the Gods" and was said to preserve their immortality. Mortals who were permitted to partake of ambrosia were said to receive additional beauty, strength, and swiftness. Through our food, we hope to evoke the azure skies, even bluer Aegean seas, white-gold sand, the vibrant reds, greens, yellow & oranges of the flowers & spices - the paint pallette colours of the Mediterranean. A feast for the senses…Buenisimo!
Well, from wat they had described, it is indeed true. I am not a great fan for Mediterranean food, but I thought of giving it a try.
Wifey and me planned for a nice dinner with her frens to some place where we can chat after dinner and just chill. We were thinking of having it at Rice Table. Well, place is condusive as it is in town. Ambience is there. However, in the last minute, we changed our mind as we're too lazy to bu josttling with other Singaporeans for seat and space in Orchard. Especially, that it's weekend.
So, we change the location to Arab Street. Plan was, dinner, chatting and sisha. Definitely the best palce for Sisha is Arab St. When we arrived there at about 7.45pm, we were amazed at how lively the place is. Its totally different from months ago. The place is vibrant with colours, added by passerby. Giggles from groups of people. Music cooing from every shops. Human traffic is moderate, but constantly moving. Flashes snapped from cameras of visitors. Phew! For once, I thought that we are at the wrong place. Never did I imagine that its gonna be that busy!
We make a slow stroll to every shops that's open, mainly peeping in, to look for a good spot to park our bums on. Suddenly, we came across this one particular cafe. "Ambrosia". A name that I couldnt figure out if it's Mediterranean, or Latin. From it's exterior, I am astonished that such place existed in Singapore. It is so warm and cosy. The ambience just wanna make u feel lazy. You know, one that makes you feel, that you just wanna slouch and sink into the seat, with a pot of tea, whilst music of the Mediterranean and the sea cooed at the background, chatting with love ones and forget all worries... Well, this place has it! They have a place for just that. Romantic ambience with warm dimly lit yellow light massage the tired mind.
Well, the food is ok and price is affordable. All that I can say is that we really love the place. Its like a triad for me and the gangs. Wish that I can call it, a place of my own....
