Living in the shadow of others....

Shadows are part of everyone's lives. Without shadows, there's no shade and without it, all of us would not be here. It tells time in sundial, a friend to police officers and foe to robbers. A listening ear to loners and a pest to laundrettes.
Lets take a walk down memory lane and discover ourselves. Shadows are a product of reflection. Same like us. How we carry ourselves, potray our character.
As unique as the word unique itself could be, shadows are there to stay. It actually shape you.
Is there any hypocrites that act perfect infront of others? at the same time deny the fact on how imperfect he is? That's normal. Everyone are putting a mask to hide their imperfection. And there is another type who hides behind the success of others.
Why would u be the passenger when you can be the rider yourself? Is it because, its easier to tag along while riding the wave of success? Becareful, cos, if u must know, at the end of the journey, the waves crash in.
Funny how people take shadows for granted. Knowing that it will always be on our side. Its comparable to how each one of us took love for granted. We'll tend to be complacent and just do as we pleases, not knowing how our partner feels. Wouldn't you agree that once they are missing, you will start searching...

Back to the wild...

It's been years since our last visit to the zoo. It has been one of our scheduled plan for this year. Not knowing that its gonna be this soon though. Thuthfully, our visit to the zoo was something that's unplanned for. As ususal, Me, wifey, Zul and even Rina is there to join us. This time round, we also had Aqif and his sister, Aishah on the loose. I knew of someone that might say, "What have I to gain from going there?", not knowing that our Singapore zoo, actually teaches you more than you can swallow. Better than discovery channel (I'm a buff of Discovery Channel - if u must know).
I'm actually taken a back to see so much info. It use to be just the name of the animals (+ the scientific name) habitat and its characteristic. Nowadays, they even include other facts that are unusual about the animals. Wifey and me, really enjoyed the trip, but, with her condition as such, I actually pity her, cos she has to wooble herself to the next sanctuary. I really wouldnt mid going to the zoo again. The only thing that we miss are the elephants. Where are they? And.... opppsss... if you plan to go there, take a peep at the signboard just as u turn in from Mandai Road. A perfect example of Singlish in the making... Wat it shows? "Singapore Zoological Garden. 1.5km in." Shouldn't it be 1.5km ahead?

... Thousand apologies ...

Quote : "... Now I do not know if I am born white with black stripes or I am born black with white stripes...." Marty, Madagascar...
Isn't this wat everyone would think after awhile. When things get complacent, everyone would just thinnkthat its normal to do what they use to do. It is not healthy you know?
Everyone has to change their routines and add spice to their life. Once everything is a norm to him or her, he or she will tend to make mistakes. Yes, it is true that it is human to make mistakes. However, the first mistake that everyone should stop making, is to break the routine in life.
Its never easy if u must know. The reason is because, human tend to be lazy and do not want any changes in life. That will save the hassle to change schedule, to remember and to follow the new changes religiously.
But for those who never make mistakes, they lose many great chances to learn more. Never in life that anyone born perfect, but to continue doing the same mistakes twice, they are just being stubborn. Every mistake that you did, it taught you something new. But if the same mistake re-occur, it is no longer a mistake.
Our mistakes don't make or break us - if we're lucky, they simply reveal who we really are, what we're really made of. If you manage to show people around you that you can handle the mistake that you've done, you had just tell these people that you are capable and not cripple.Mistakes are a fact of life. It is the response to the error that counts.
You may make mistakes, but you are not a failure until you start blaming someone else.
Admit it, that is what we normally did - one time or the other.Mistakes are a great educator when one is honest enough to admit them and willing to learn from them. But if you wanna must know what experiece are made of, search your heart and it will say this - mistakes. True enough that experience are not neccessarily built on mistakes alone, but it is made up of a huge bulk of it!
The greatest mistake you can make in life, is to be continually fearing you will make one.Take chances, make mistakes. That's how you grow. Pain nourishes your courage. You have to fail in order to practice being brave. It is not because the truth is too difficult to see that we make mistakes... we make mistakes because the easiest and most comfortable course for us is to seek insight where it accords with our emotions - especially selfish ones.
Mistakes are almost always of a sacred nature. Never try to correct them. On the contrary: rationalize them, understand them thoroughly. After that, it will be possible for you to sublimate them. Mistakes are, after all, the foundations of truth, and if a man does not know what a thing is, it is at least an increase in knowledge if he knows what it is not.

Can guess where these place is?

One windy afternoon...

... in a faraway land, where stream meet the sea, four little kids decided to try their greatest invention of all time. Or so they thought. It's call the Kite...
So, off they stroll to a nearby deserted land by the beach. Hoping that it will be more windy than that of they home. Upon reaching the clear land, these little children spread their little wings and began to fly their kites.
However, to their disappointment, the wind had its up and down. "Whispy", master of all winds had decided to report sick. He had a lung infection, as he blew too much the day before. Dust and other polluted particles had entered his lungs, and so, he went to see the doctor.
"You must rest today...!" said the Doc.
"But doctor, if I am not working today, everyone on earth will be hot and dry. I pity mothers that have to spend time, fanning little children. I pity children falling sick, " reply Whispy."
Doctor reply, "ok then. In that case, I will give you this medcine. It will will make your airways smaller. Therefore, no particles may enter your lungs, but, your blowing power will decreases."
So, the little children had a hard time flying their kites. Try as hard as they may, and run as fast as they could, but their kites still refuse to dance in the air. So, little "Pinky"decided to ask the fisherman for help....
Pinky shouted, "Mr Fisherman....! Can you please help us to fan with your paddle?"
"Sure, missy!!!" reply the fisherman
And so, little Roundie, try her luck and, Yes! their invention works really well. So well, that clouds begin to drift and strong trees sway.
The wind that was created, even blew carriages and horses on the road, leaving nothing. Little Roundie and Little Meatty, was so proud of their invention.
Roundie : "There, I told you that it works."
Meatty : "I know that if Whispy is well enough, the kite would fly higher... Hmmmm... aren't you proud?"
After that, Meatty and Roundie decided to walk to the end of the road and go back. Its such a wonderful feeling of accomplishment that their invention works.
Pouchy decided to stay back and clear the land from the tall grass. Next time, should Whispy decided to continue his duty, there will be room for other children to play.
... and Pouchy make new friend.

Berhenti Berharap

Berhenti Berharap
by Sheila On 7

aku tak percaya lagi
dengan apa yang kau beri
aku terdampar di sini
tersudut menunggu mati
aku tak percaya lagi
akan guna matahari
dengan mampu menerangi
sudut gelap hati ini
aku berhenti berharap
dan menunggu datang gelap
sampai nanti suatu saat
tak ada cinta kudapat
kenapa ada derita
bila bahagia tercipta
kenapa ada sang hitam
bila putih menyenangkan...

Chorus:
aku pulang...
tanpa dendam
kuterima.. kekalahanku
aku pulang...
tanpa dendam
kusalutkan.. kemenanganmu

bridge:
kau ajarkan aku bahagia
kau ajarkan aku derita
kau tunjukkan aku bahagia
kau tunjukkan aku derita
kau berikan aku bahagia
kau berikan aku derita

The Apprentice

Today, I did something lucrative and spend most of the day as an apprentice. This is just to prepare wifey and me before we enter parenthood in few months time. I "kidnapped" a nephew from his legal custody and drive him over to the airport. Well, the real reason was because, wifey has been asking and bugging for a meal at "Burger King" since last week. So, we took the opportunity of our off day to grab a meal. There is a reason why airport was the chosen destination. I do not wish to pursue on that, but lets just continue on my apprenticeship. Initially, we had a hard time to put him in the car. He refused. But, thanks to my innovative intelligence, I bought a tid-bits and lure him into the car. I stopped over at a petrol kiosk and made payment. Afiq, my nephew, was there to accompany me to pay the due. That was the first encounter I had. I had to chase him in the air conditioned store, ending with me perspiring. From there, I knew that I am going to have a hard time at the airport, which I did.
I guess, I dun have to elaborate on that. Its a painful experience, especially, on my back. I carried him, 15kg of meat from one end of terminal 1, all the way to the carpark of terminal 2.
I guess, I will have to consider rowing in the dragon boat.
All I have to do is just have him every off day.
I bet I can shed some kilos soon enuff...!
